And More…
-
If any part of your sign crosses over public property — the sidewalk, boulevard, or roadway — a sign encroachment agreement may be required in addition to your sign permit. It's a separate process, with a separate department, and it's where a lot of sign projects stall.
Rouge Hill Consulting coordinates the encroachment agreement alongside your sign permit so nothing falls through the cracks.
-
We help municipalities consolidate, modernize, and draft enforceable sign by-laws — from background research and stakeholder engagement through to Council adoption.
We handle the regulatory drafting, the public-facing engagement, and every step in between — so your municipality gets a by-law that is clear, enforceable, and built on consensus.
-
Protect your budget, ensure compliance, and eliminate contractor risk. We manage the entire tendering and construction process for your sign project.
-
A Metrolinx Corridor Development Permit (CDP) is needed by anyone carrying out work within the Transit Corridor Lands and permit buffers. However, your signage project may be exempt from this requirement.
In accordance with the Conservation Authorities Act and Ontario Regulation 41/24, TRCA regulates areas where development could be subject to environmental features (e.g. flooding and erosion). Any of these activities within the Regulated Area may require a permit from TRCA.
Under the authority of the Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act, the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulates the MTO-controlled areas for the placement of signs.
-
Rouge Hill Consulting can manage every sign permit across all your locations—any city, any province. One partner. Standardized drawings. Faster approvals. Zero administrative burden for your team.
-
For each sign you want to install, we determine whether a permit is required, which by-law governs, how many signs your property is actually allowed, and exactly what must change for the signage to comply. It is the fastest way to de-risk a signage project before money is spent on fabrication or installation.
